B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is an undergraduate medical Lab technology program. Medical Laboratory technology program also known as medical laboratory science is an allied health profession that is concerned with the remedy, prognosis and prevention of disease through using clinical laboratory tests. During the program these tests help candidates to examine and diagnose, detect and treat illnesses. Moreover the program deals with the collecting of information's sampling, reporting, checking out and documentation.

B.Sc Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) []

B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology is a 3 year undergraduate course divided into 6 semesters said to all the work and management of the operation theatre. The course prepares students for managing the patients as well as for monitoring the inn’s and out’s of an operation theatre. During the study, the scholars are responsible for taking care of all the surgical instruments as well as their sterilization. Students assist the surgeon during operations and closely take care of the drugs, anaesthetic gases, drapes and sterilization requirements during surgery.

B.sc Imaging Technology []

B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology is a 3 year course, divided into six semesters. The discipline involves the techniques and processes employed in creating images of human body parts for clinical purposes or in medical science. The course is designed with a diversified plan of study in advance imaging (MRI and CT), healthcare management and general knowledge about the discipline.

B.Sc. in Radiotherapy Technology []

B.Sc. Radiotherapy Technology (RTT) is a 3 year undergraduate Radiography course.  Radiotherapy may be used to treat localized solid tumours, such as cancers of the skin, tongue, larynx, brain, breast, or uterine cervix. It is a therapy using ionizing radiation. It is generally used as part of cancer treatment. In simple terms, the radiation is used to kill or control the growth of malignant cells in a specific part of the body or organ. The radiation alters the DNA structure of the malignant cells. Thus, it kills or restricts the growth of such harmful cells.

B.Sc Respiratory Therapy []

Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy or B.Sc. in Respiratory Therapy is a 3 years undergraduate degree course. Respiratory Therapy is a relatively new branch of Allied Health Sciences and a profession devoted to the scientific application of technology in order to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, management and care of patients with cardiopulmonary and associated diseases. Respiratory therapy curricula typically cover coursework related to the health, function and treatment of the heart and lungs.

About College

The Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute was started as a private Medical college in the year 1955 by Mysore Education Society. The Founders of this Society were Dr. R. Shivaram, Dr. Mekhri, Dr. B.K. Narayana Rao and Dr. B.V. Ramaswamy. In the year 1957 it was handed over to the then Government of Mysore and was affiliated to Mysore University and then on to the Bangalore University. In the year 1996 it got affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
