M.Tech in Manufacturing Science and Engineering is a 2 year post graduate program mainly covering the study of the concepts and processes involved in manufacturing functions. The subjects focussed upon include Casting and Solidification, Material Behaviour, Ceramic Forming Surface, Power Metallurgy and Interface Phenomena, Coatings and Surface Engineering, Composite Materials, among others. The course focuses on research and development processes, machines, tools and equipment. Manufacturing Engineering is a collaboration of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, materials management, and operations management.

The program is an offshoot of Mechanical Engineering, focussing on machine design using analytical, numerical and experimental approaches The course essentially focuses on areas like Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, Theory of Plates and Shells, Advanced Vibrations, Finite Element Analysis, Kinematics Design, Tribology and Bearing Design, Fracture Mechanics, Experimental Stress Analysis, etc. enrolled students have the opportunity to work in the areas of design and analysis in association with faculty members on on-going research projects.

B.E Computer Science and Engineering [BE CSE]

B.E. Computer Science is a 4 year undergraduate engineering course deals with the construction, design, maintenance, operation of computer software and hardware. This course introduces the software and hardware aspects of both computer applications and computer design. The course explores the interaction between modern computer science and related technologies that have evolved design principles of engineering and mathematical into the developmental of modern computing systems.

About College

In the back drop of growing demand for acquiring degree in engineering by the diploma holders, BMS Evening College of Engineering came into existence in the year 1973. The starting of this institution met with many challenges and even the Govt. officials had many doubts regarding the running of a technical course in the evening time. Existing Engineering colleges were reluctant to take up such an adventure. However, BMS Educational Trust which had already established prestigious BMS college of engineering came forward to extend its existing facilities and infrastructure of BMSCE to run the Evening College and obtained the approval of DTE and Bengaluru University. BMSECE is the first aided institution from Karnataka offering undergraduate degrees in engineering program under lateral entry scheme, for working diploma candidates with minimum of 2 years work experience. From the academic year 2001-2002 onwards, the diploma holders are being directly admitted to the second year of Four year BE course. At present the college is affiliated to VTU, Belagavi.

Initially, only three core engineering disciplines viz Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering were started. Later Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering were added with a total intake of 330 students.

Well qualified & experienced faculty and committed staff are eager to provide effective education to students. A well maintained campus provides good academic ambience.  In addition to gaining academic knowledge and skills, opportunities are created for the students to groom and develop further.

Many of our students have continued their studies further and obtained Masters and Doctoral degree after passing out from this institution. Some of them have reached the highest positions such as directors, general managers and managers in private and public sectors. BMSECE continues to cater to the needs of many diploma professionals to bring their dreams to reality.

Location: B.M.S. Evening College of Engineering is located in the heart of Bengaluru, the Garden city of India [12 57'N and 77 38'E, 914m altitude] which is one of the most important industrial cities in the country with a wide variety of large, medium and small scale industries. Bengaluru is well known as Electronic City and Silicon Valley of India. The climate of Bengaluru is salubrious with a cool weather throughout the year except during the months of April and May when it slightly warms up.
