Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) is a 5 years undergraduate program where the course is designed to provide licensed and professional architects who are authorized to try to private constructions and government constructions. Architectural study includes the activity of designing models of building, preparing construction’s blueprint and other physical structure of any land and building. It is a technical course which mainly focuses on the development of the skills like process of construction of commercial buildings, malls, complexes, highways construction, and civil construction by applying their innovative ideas and analytical skills which are required to become an Architect.
B. Design or Bachelor of Design is a 4 year undergraduate Fashion and Interior Design course. Fashion Design is the study of creating original designs in garments, footwear, jewellery, luggage, etc and a study of the ever-changing trends in the fashion industry and market. B. Des. is the study of creating original designs which involve converting artistic talent and creativity in creating products like clothing, textiles, jewellery, footwear and other accessories. B. Des. Degree course also includes a detailed study of the market trends and the related fashion.
College of Architecture Trivandrum is one of the largest architectural schools in Trivandrum, the capital city of the state of Kerala, India. The institute is popularly known as CAT. The institution was established in the year 2011 as a privately owned educational institution. CAT attracts students from all parts of Kerala and also from the nearby states. The College of Architecture Trivandrum envisages an interdisciplinary and interconnected curriculum with an intention to prepare a new genre of architects who would be able to use creatively the evidences collected from real data while developing concepts. This forms the basis of architectural design with an emphasis on formal aesthetics of the 21st century. Research in architectural theory and research driven practice of faculty members formed another layer to the design education.
