Diploma in radiology and imaging technology is a two year diploma program which aims towards a basic understanding of various aspects of radio diagnostic technology and medical imaging techniques. Students are trained about the use of radiographic equipment, learn how to position patients to get the best images and learn to critique images. Students will develop knowledge and skills such as anatomy and physiology, examination techniques, patient care, professionalism, radiation safety and protection and x-ray equipment.

Optometrists are primary health care providers for the Diagnosis, management and treatment of the Eye Diseases, Refractive disorders.

Diploma in optometry course applicants are acquainted with inspection and analyzing of numerous refractive conditions and oversee Optical guides, for example, Optical Glasses, Contact lenses and other Remedial guides.


B.Sc. in Radiology & Imaging Technology []

Radiology and imaging technology is a 3 year undergraduate course that produces clear and accurate images of the body that enable physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Technicians operate sophisticated equipment that include X-ray, CT scan, MRI and mammography. By guiding patients through each step of their medical imaging procedures, these specialists ensure the production of high quality images.

Technicians prepare patients by explaining each step of the medical imaging process. After instructing the patients to remove jewelry, clothing or other items that could interfere with the equipment, they position them correctly and protect them from overexposure, for example by covering parts of the body not being filmed with lead aprons. Occasionally they inject barium- and iodine-based contrast agents to improve image quality. A radiology technician may also be responsible for updating patient records and maintaining the imaging equipment itself.


B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology []

B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is an undergraduate medical Lab technology program. Medical Laboratory technology program also known as medical laboratory science is an allied health profession that is concerned with the remedy, prognosis and prevention of disease through using clinical laboratory tests. During the program these tests help candidates to examine and diagnose, detect and treat illnesses. Moreover the program deals with the collecting of information's sampling, reporting, checking out and documentation.

B.Optometry is a 3 year undergraduate degree course which deals with the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system. It is a vision care science. One can also define it as the science of eye equipment (including lenses and spectacles) which is imbued with the idea of improving the vision of the human eye and remove all kinds of obstacles of sight which an individual may experience.

C.S.I. Kalyani Multispeciality Hospital is located in the prestigious Dr.Radhakrishnan Salai right next to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The sea breeze continuously blows over Kalyani & keeps air pure and invigorating. This Hospital is one of the oldest & largest of the Voluntary Health Organizations in the city of Chennai. Kalyani Hospital owes its origin in 1909, to the altruistic & charitable disposition of a Brahmin convert and philanthropist, the late Dewan Bahadur Narayanaiyar Subramaniyam, Barrister-at-law, and advocate of the High Court of Madras, who served with distinction as Administrative General and Official Trustee of Madras. He bequeathed the buildings to the Methodist Missionary Society of London to run a hospital for Women & Children which was later taken over by the Church of South India. Opened by Lady White, the Methodist Missionary on 1st March 1909, as a small hospita l for women and children with 24 beds and a small group of dedicated staffs, the hospital has now grown as a full fledged multispeciality hospital with 220 beds providing all major speciality services, catering to the health needs of all strata of society.
The Hospital has a well established "School of Nursing" INC, CMAI & Government approved, where 3 1/2 Years Nursing Diploma Course is conducted. Every year 25 nurses pass out of this School. Steps are being taken to upgrade it to B.Sc.,(N) couses. The hosptial has CMAI approved Two - Year Diploma course in "Medical Laboratory Technology" "Medical Radiation Technology (Diagnosis)" and "Diploma in Opthalmic TEchnology" Courses and also one year "Nursing Assistant Course" sponsored by Tamilnadu Government. Post Graduate Courses for Doctors - DNB in Family Medicine, General Medicine & Obstetrics and Gynaecology".
