The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
Dhanalakshmi College of Nursing is established in the year 2010 with BSc Nursing 40 seats recognized by INC, KNC and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science-Trissur. Dhanalakshmi Hospital Pvt. Ltd, the only NABH accredited super specialty hospital in North Malabar is our parent hospital. It is located in 800 mtrs away from the college. Dhanalakshmi College is located at the heart of Kannur, 2 kms from Kannur Railway station and Bus stand.
The college is functioning own building with well-qualified staff and well-furnished infrastructure, laboratories and very good library with national, international and E journals as well as recent edition books. A separate hostel for girls and boys with adequate facilities are also available. A well-equipped nursing labs, computer lab, virtual classroom, university examination hall& College Auditorium is also available in this institution. A strong PTA, SNA and UUC are also functioning in the institution. We have strong anti-ragging committee and squad, with their unpredictable activities. Our objectives are to prepare well qualified, skilled and experienced nursing professionals. The college is managed by Dhanalakshmi Hospitals Pvt. Ltd.
The college has a separate three storied campus building with more than enough class rooms already. All Class rooms are well arranged, chairs with writing pad, speech desk, projector facility with a sitting capacity of more than 80 students in each classroom. The rooms are spacious and are airy so the students feel comfortable and can concentrate on their studies.
