GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery and focuses on educating nursing students on the topics of general health care and midwifery. Nursing and Midwifery focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life from conception to death. Duration of the course is 3 years.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
Dileef School of Nursing offers ‘Diploma in GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY COURSE’ which is of 3 ½ Year duration. On successful completion of the Course, Diploma Certificate will be awarded by the Director of Medical Education, Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh Nursing Council, HYDERABAD (A.P).The Institute, St. John’s College of Health Sciences and Medical Research was established in the Year 1987 to impart training in Para-Medical Diploma Courses such as Medical Lab Technology, Public Health and Sanitation Technology etc., to the Candidates. The First Batch Students of 1987-88, has successfully completed the above Courses. As such, We had started GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY COURSE in the name of DILEEF SCHOOL OF NURSING from the Academic Year 1988-89 which is now 3 ½ Years Duration. We are admitting Candidates for 24th Batch for the Academic Year 2010-11. With the above experience in running General Nursing & Midwifery Course. We have started First Batch of B.Sc., (NURSING) in the Academic Year 2005-06 in the name of “DILEEF COLLEGE OF NURSING”.
