M.Tech Transportation Engineering is a 2 year postgraduate course focus on the field concerning design and construction of roads, but only recently the need of the application of scientific approach and technology in transportation and traffic management is being felt, for savings the costs and time involved in transportation. The course covers both engineering and management aspects of transportation systems, with particular emphasis on road transportation. Transportation Engineers are expected to take into account future traffic flows, the design of highway intersections or interchanges, geometric alignment and design, highway pavement materials and design, structural design of pavement thickness, and pavement maintenance etc.
