Mechanical Engineering is a 4 year undergraduate Engineering course, deals with the study of mechanics, kinetics, statistics, material science, thermodynamics, and structural dynamics used in development, designing, production, construction, operation, installation, and maintenance of machines, tools, and various other mechanical equipment. B.E. Mechanical Engineering course introduces fundamental concepts of machine design system and machine operation. In this course, candidates learn the physical properties of motion, force, stress, and principles of equilibrium, elasticity, compatibility and the behavior of machines.

M.Tech Digital Electronics & Communication Systems is a 2 year postgraduate course, designed to offer specialization in digital communication techniques used in the present scenario & the hardware languages used in design and implementation, while at the same time building competence in a particular area of technology. The program aims to build in students competent business acumen through advanced study of general subjects such as Advanced Digital Communication, Modern DSP, Advanced Embedded System, Antenna Theory and Design, Digital Electronics, Error control and coding, Advanced Computer Architecture, later allowing them to specialize in a chosen area. One of the principle objectives of the course is to train students with good scientific and engineering breadth, including proficiency in software language and use of latest software tools so as to comprehend, analyze, design and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems, as also for pursuing advanced research in the discipline.​

M. Tech Machine Design []

M.Tech in Machine Design is a 2- year post graduate program covering the essential concepts and processes involved in the design and manufacture of machines and machine- related items. The program is an offshoot of Mechanical Engineering, focussing on machine design using analytical, numerical and experimental approaches The course essentially focuses on areas like Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, Theory of Plates and Shells, Advanced Vibrations, Finite Element Analysis, Kinematics Design, Tribology and Bearing Design, Fracture Mechanics, Experimental Stress Analysis, etc. enrolled students have the opportunity to work in the areas of design and analysis in association with faculty members on on-going research projects.

The Kammavari Sangham, a multi-activity non-profit oriented voluntary service organization, was established in the year 1952 with the sole objective of providing charitable service to community and society. The Sangham has diversified its activities since its establishment over five decades ago. With a firm belief that quality and meaningful education only can lay the strong foundation for bringing about economic and social changes to the lives of thousand, the Sangham went about establishing educational institutions, starting with K.S. Polytechnic in 1992. Enthused with this success of its foray into technical education, the Sangham moved forward by starting the K.S Institute of Technology (KSIT). Its Engineering College in the year 1999. In the following years both these institutions have carved for themselves an enviable niche through academic excellence achieved in a very short span of time.
