The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
Little Flower College of Nursing under Jubilee Memorial Hospital is an initiative of Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS), the dream of His grace Most Rev Dr Soosa Pakiam M, with his far reaching vision he saw the need of creating job opportunities for girls from the costal villages and hill belts of Trivandrum. Little Flower College of Nursing was established in the year 2012 during the 75th Annual celebration of Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum and the 25th year of Jubilee Memorial Hospital under the able guidance Sr.Suma Kuttickal the founder Principal of College of Nursing from Sisters of Charity. TSSS is the first Catholic Social Service Society in India established in 1960 to uplift the poor family of fishermen, farmers and other working classes of the Trivandrum district.
The Nursing Department has grown by leaps and bounds through the years under the headship of committed nursing professionals, integration of College of Nursing and Nursing Service renders quality care. The institution is well supported through the leadership offered by the Principal and faculty of College of nursing on various aspects of patient care management, infection control and holistic care in the hospital.
