B.Sc. Cardiac Technology is a 3 + 1 year undergraduate course divided into 6 semesters. Cardiac Technology is an allied course in medicine. Cardiac Technologists assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular testing; a tube is inserted into one of the blood vessels that carry blood into the heart.
B.Sc Dialysis Technology is a 3 + 1 year undergraduate course. Dialysis is a medical procedure that acts as an artificial kidney by removing waste from the blood and excess fluids from the body when kidneys have lost the ability to perform these functions normally. Dialysis technicians are responsible for operating the machines that do this and monitoring the patients undergoing treatment. Dialysis technicians work closely with patients, nurses and doctors to make sure this vital medical equipment runs smoothly.
Radiology and imaging technology is a 3 + 1 year undergraduate course that produces clear and accurate images of the body that enable physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Technicians operate sophisticated equipment that includes X-ray, CT scan, MRI and mammography. By guiding patients through each step of their medical imaging procedures, these specialists ensure the production of high quality images.
Technicians prepare patients by explaining each step of the medical imaging process. After instructing the patients to remove jewelry, clothing or other items that could interfere with the equipment, they position them correctly and protect them from overexposure, for example by covering parts of the body not being filmed with lead aprons. Occasionally they inject barium- and iodine-based contrast agents to improve image quality. A radiology technician may also be responsible for updating patient records and maintaining the imaging equipment itself.
B.Sc Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology is a 3 + 1 years undergraduate degree course. Operation Theatre and anaesthesia technician is an allied healthcare worker who assists with the administration and monitoring of anaesthesia and has an extensive knowledge of anaesthesia techniques, instruments, supplies, and technology.
Anaesthetic technicians are involved with all aspects of the delivery of a patient's preoperative (The period, Before, during and after the surgery) anaesthetic care, taking into account the patient’s religious and cultural beliefs and respecting their right to medical privacy and dignity at all times. Anaesthetic Technician also provides a key role in the emergency resuscitation of patients.
Allied Health Science is a newly evolved concept in health care and constitutes a separate stream of health professionals contributing to the healthcare in India. Allied Health Care professionals are an integral part of the medical team along with physicians and nurses contributing their expertise to the preventive, curative and rehabilitative care of the patients. They are a distinct group of health care professionals who apply their expertise to assist diagnose, treat and rehabilitate people of all ages and all specialties.
Together with a range of technical and supportive, staff they may deliver assisted patient care, rehabilitation, diagnostics and health improvement interventions to restore and maintain optimal physical, sensory, psychological, cognitive and social functions. This inclusive grouping, which can account for up to 60% of all health professionals in some countries, provides professional leadership, governance, supervision and professional development that will assure appropriate credentialing and quality of patient care.
Allied Health makes a significant contribution to health care system strengthening, including primary care, and the communities with whom they work.Workforce and health care experts anticipate that health services will increasingly be delivered via ambulatory and nursing care settings rather than in hospitals.Allied Health Care professionals have ample of opportunities to work in various specialty Hospitals in India as well as foreign countries.
