M.P.T. Musculoskeletal Disorders & Sports Physiotherapy is a 2 year postgraduate Physiotherapy course. Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is a specialized area of Physiotherapy treating injuries and conditions which affect the muscles, joints, and soft tissues. The course includes anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, psychology, medical and surgical conditions, biomechanics, kinesiology, disability prevention, rehabilitation and other subjects. Musculoskeletal injuries are injuries to joints, muscles, bones and or nerves.  Common conditions treated are neck and back pain, and shoulder, hip and knee injuries. Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists often use manual therapy treatment techniques such as joint mobilization or manipulation and massage to restore normal function, in conjunction with exercise programs. 

MPT in Cardio Respiratory Disorders & Intensive Care []

M.P.T. Cardio respiratory Disorders & Intensive Care is a 2 year postgraduate Physiotherapy course. Cardio respiratory is science that pertains to or affects both the heart and the lungs and their functions. Course serves for the patient affected with respiratory problems that need Bronchial hygiene, Airway clearance, Secretions removal and patients posted for cardio-Thoracic surgery and other surgeries to minimize the Chest complications using Manual and Independent Chest PT techniques. The courses also contain a detailed study of various kinds of actions that can be performed on the heart to make it more efficient and healthy in its working. They work with all ages from premature babies to older adults at the end of their life. Physical therapists are pioneering new management techniques for non-organic respiratory problems like hyperventilation and other stress-related disorders as well as leading the development of cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation and non-invasive ventilation.

MPT in Paediatric Physiotherapy []

Ph.D. in Physiotherapy is a 3- year to 6 years doctorate degree program, the minimum eligibility is master degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized college or university or its equivalent exam. For admission to Ph.D. in Physiotherapy depends upon commencing of applicant's performance in a relevant entrance exam, and resulting round of counselling.

Recognizing the growing need and awareness for rehabilitation medicine in the field of health care, NET established the Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy in 1997. The Institute is now a constituent unit of the Nitte University, recognized by the Government of India and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP). Located at the Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangalore, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy imparts degree and postgraduate courses in Physiotherapy. The college offers excellent facilities for practical training at the sophisticated multispecialty Justice K S Hedge Charitable Hospital.
