The Physician Assistants work in different areas such as outpatient wing, wards and critical care units, operation theatres and other super specialty units like, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Orthopaedics , Oncology, Endocrinology , Head and Neck and Plastic Surgery, Catheterization labs, Coronary care units, Organ Transplant units and trauma care etc.
B.Sc Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology is a 3 + 1 year undergraduate degree course. Operation Theatre and anaesthesia technician is an allied healthcare worker who assists with the administration and monitoring of anaesthesia and has an extensive knowledge of anaesthesia techniques, instruments, supplies, and technology.
Anaesthetic technicians are involved with all aspects of the delivery of a patient's preoperative (The period, Before, during and after the surgery) anaesthetic care, taking into account the patient’s religious and cultural beliefs and respecting their right to medical privacy and dignity at all times. Anaesthetic Technician also provides a key role in the emergency resuscitation of patients.
B.Sc. Radiography and imaging technology is a 3 + 1 year undergraduate course that produces clear and accurate images of the body that enable physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Technicians operate sophisticated equipment that includes X-ray, CT scan, MRI and mammography. By guiding patients through each step of their medical imaging procedures, these specialists ensure the production of high quality images.
B.Sc. in Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology is a 3 + 1 year undergraduate course in Bioscience. Such perfusionists utilize technology such as heart/ lung machines, ventricular assistance devices, artificial hearts, as well as pharmacological interventions to maintain the patient's cardiac functions during the period of circulatory support.
