M.Tech Embedded Systems is a 2 year long full-time course , which is a combination of hardware systems and software systems built into equipment that is not always recognized as being computerized, such as the systems that control a car’s anti-lock brakes, an automatic pilot of an aircraft, or the sensors and filters used in processing plants. Using Embedded Systems, a variety of sophisticated systems can be developed, such as smartphones, infusion pumps, pedometers, infotainment systems, TV, electronic gadgets, fridge, and AC, among others. Embedded Systems are employed in applications such as Product Designing, Software, Product Development, Hardware, Firmware, RTOS development, PCB designing, and Testing.

Ph.D. in Biotechnology is a 3 to 5-year doctorate course. Minimum eligibility for pursuance of the course is the successful completion of post-graduation in Biotechnology, completed from a recognized university. The course involves an advanced, research-based study of the discipline of Life & Basic Sciences, and allied disciplines of microbiology, and related technology. A biochemist’s role field of expertise can encompass a wide range of scientific topics, including stem cell research, genetic research, immunology, pharmacology, forensics, cancer research, environmental science, and food science. This interdisciplinary program aims at academically exploring biological processes (reproduction, aging, and genetics) in terms of their chemical identity for easier comprehension.

Ph D in Electronics and Communication Engineering []

The PhD programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a research-based programme. The research can be in any of the broad areas in ECE. The core strength of the institute is currently in the following core areas: signal/speech /image processing, VLSI and embedded systems, robotics, and communications. The mian emphasis of this programme is on a thesis. Work towards the thesis requires a good understanding the state of art in an area, problem formulation, original contributions based on analysis with sufficient mathematical rigour and validation. The research is expected to be of sufficient quality to be publishable in leading international journals and top conferences pertaining to an area of research.

M.Tech Industrial Biotechnology []

M.Tech Industrial Biotechnology is a 2 year full-time postgraduate Engineering course , focus on the application of biotechnology for industrial purposes, including manufacturing , alternative energy and biomaterials. Industrial Biotechnology is the study  of enzymes and micro- organisms to make products in sectors such as chemistry , food and feed, paper & pulp, textile & energy.The course is the revised study of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.The program also explores areas like bioethics , regulatory affairs and the role of intellectual property in biotechnology.

About College

The Government of Kerala included the Sahrdaya College as one of the engineering colleges to which the students have to be admitted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination from the year 2002-2003 in the four branches sanctioned by the AICTE. On 21st November 2001 His Excellency Mar James Pazhayattil laid the foundation stone for central building of Sahrdaya College.

The laboratories required for first year in Physics and Chemistry departments and the workshop required in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics and Civil engineering departments were fully equipped. A drawing hall containing modern adjustable drawing boards was also made available for use. An advanced Computer Lab with 60 networked Pentium-4 terminals was established. A vast reference library which can accommodate 150 students at a time and issue library with text books and reference books was established with a well qualified librarian and necessary supporting staff. In a short span of seven months the central building, workshop and hostel block were completed in all respects. All the 4 class rooms of the first batch were equipped with Networked Computers with LCD projector for Multimedia Presentations, Teak wood furniture, imported green glass Magnetic chalk boards etc.
