M.Sc. Chemistry is a 2 year postgraduate Chemistry course. Chemistry is the science of matter and the changes it undergoes. The science of matter is also addressed by physics, but while physics takes a more general and fundamental approach, chemistry is more specialized, being concerned with the composition, behavior, structure, and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions.
M.Sc. Data Science is a 2 year course. Data science is a field that involves the use of scientific methods, processes and algorithms to extract the insights of bulk amount of data. Master of Science (M.Sc) in Data Science is an advanced degree programme designed to provide specialized training in Analytical Statistics that finds its application in computational and biological sciences. The course aims to help students develop statistical programming skill with a career prospect in the corporate. M.Sc Data Science degree programme helps students gain strong methodological foundations in analytical statistics, handle statistical consultations and learn the various techniques, skills and use of tools.
M.Sc. Physics is a 2 year postgraduate Physics course. Physics is a natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion through space-time, along with related concepts such as energy and force. More broadly, it is the general analysis of nature, conducted to understand how the universe behaves.
Ph.D. Physics is a 3 – 5 year Doctorate Physics Course. The duration of the program is minimum of 3 years from the date of registration and maximum of 5 years. Physics is a natural science that involves the study of matter. The Course includes matter physics, high energy physics, non-linear optics, quantum optics and laser physics, solid state physics and materials science and electronic science. The areas of research include high TC superconductivity, magnetism, phase transitions, critical phenomena, glasses and ceramics, liquid crystals, thin films, ion-solid interactions, semiconductors and super lattices, nanostructure materials, localization, percolation, molecular dynamics, neural networks, quantum field theory, quantum chromo dynamics, CP violation, heavy quarks, non-linear dynamics, quantum computing, stochastic-quantization, modern quantum optics including Feta second laser experiments and theory, ferroelectrics and microwave devices.
Ph.D. Mathematics is a 3 – 5 year Doctorate Mathematics course. The duration of the program is minimum of 3 years from the date of registration and maximum of 5 years. Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns and formulate new conjectures. On the completion of doctorate degree scholars should submit their ‘thesis’ and then they deserve the respective degree.

Ph.D. Chemistry is 3- 5 year Doctorate Chemistry course. The duration of the program is minimum of 3 years from the date of registration and maximum of 5 years. Chemistry is the science of matter, especially its properties, structure, composition, behavior, reactions, interactions and the changes it undergoes. Chemistry is sometimes called ‘the central science’ because it connects physics with other natural sciences such as astronomy, geology and biology. On the completion of doctorate degree scholars should submit their ‘thesis’ and then they deserve the respective degree.

The School of Advanced Sciences comprises of four major divisions namely physics, chemistry, mathematics and social sciences & languages. The school offers a plethora of core and elective courses facilitating B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, Business and Law programmes. The curriculum, which is developed on par with the international standards, keeping in mind the current industrial needs is being supported by the state-of-the-art laboratories to provide hands-on experience and an opportunity to test and experiment theoretical concepts discussed in the classrooms. The unique combination of courses related to pure and applied sciences, soft skills, languages and society related subjects such as sociology, and psychology offered by the school is intended to impart the necessary soft skills and social awareness to the future scientists and engineers. The faculties are engaged in active research in frontier areas.
VIT was established with the aim of providing quality higher education on par with international standards. It persistently seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education on a consistent basis. The campus has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with students from all corners of the globe. Experienced and learned teachers are strongly encouraged to nurture the students. The global standards set at VIT in the field of teaching and research spurs us on in our relentless pursuit of excellence. In fact, it has become a way of life for us. The highly motivated youngsters on the campus are a constant source of pride. Our Memoranda of Understanding with various international universities are our major strength. They provide for an exchange of students and faculty and encourage joint research projects for the mutual benefit of these universities. Many of our students, who pursue their research projects in foreign universities, bring high quality to their work and esteem to India and have done us proud. With steady steps, we continue our march forward. We look forward to meeting you here at VIT.
