B.Sc. Interior Design is a 3 year undergraduate Interior Designing course. The course is based on a concern for human beings and the creation of interior settings that support human activities and values. The focus of the program is to generate awareness of the functional and aesthetic qualities of the design. The program introduces students to design principles, colour theory, space planning, and drafting and industry-standard software. The Interior Design program is planned to give students exposure to different kinds of projects that they may come across in their profession later. The program encourages students to work on live projects that emulate as far as possible a practicing design studio, with each project presented to and assessed by practicing professionals.
SJB School of Design started in the year 2017 offering B.Sc in Interior Design & Decoration course affiliated to Bangalore University. SJB School of Design is located inside the SJB School of Architecture block. Idea is to Integrate Interior Design along with Architecture course which goes hand on hand in the market which makes Interior Design course very unique and distinctive from other colleges.
SJB School of Architecture and Planning aspires to provide a pro- poor, pro- rural focus to a profession that is otherwise perceived to be elitist and urban. The vision of the School is to ‘think global and serve locally’, a tradition followed by His Holiness Balagangadhranatha Swamiji all his life. The School aspires to be a ‘one-stop’ destination for courses encompassing most disciplines that can be classified as part of the ‘Built Environment’. In its early years, two under graduate programs- Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning will co- exist and complement two inseparable professions. As soon as these two primary offerings of the School achieve stability, the focus will shift to bringing about specialized disciplines such as Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design and Construction Management emerging as the most comprehensive School in south India, with the aim of providing world class planning for cities and rural areas.
