B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is a 3 year undergraduate medical Lab technology program. Medical Laboratory technology program also known as medical laboratory science is an allied health profession that is concerned with the remedy, prognosis and prevention of disease through using clinical laboratory tests. During the program these tests help candidates to examine and diagnose, detect and treat illnesses. Moreover the program deals with the collecting of information's sampling, reporting, checking out and documentation.

SME,Puthuppally MLT Department was established in 1994 under Mahatma Gandhi University Self Financing Department. In 1997 the present campus was set for this centre. The students who achieved from this centre is now well placed all over the world in health care sector.In 1997 this centre was able to organize a mega event “SILEX” in the banner “SILEX 99” and this is been continued as a mega event with seminars, debates, competitions and cultural activities of Medical Laboratory Technology students with a participations from the entire region of our country.This institution is situated by the side of Ettumanoor Perumthuruthy Bypass and 10 Kilometers far from Kottayam Railway Station and 11 Kilometers from Kottayam KSRTC Bus Station.
