B.Ed. English is a 2 year undergraduate Education course. This course is a two years program which equips the teacher trainees with the latest knowledge and skills in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT). B.Ed. (English) degree study teaches a person about various aspects associated with teaching and aims to provide global perspectives to the professional aspects of ELT.
B.Ed. Physical Science is a 2 year undergraduate course. Physical science is a broad discipline concerned with natural phenomena of the earth, atmosphere and space. A physical science bachelor's degree program prepares students for careers as science teachers, science writers or a range of scientific positions related to their areas of emphasis.
B.Ed. Social Science is a 2-year undergraduate course. The course has been designed to offer eligible candidates a strong liberal arts education and equip them with adequate writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills for pursuance of this professional line. This course’s curriculum includes disciplines of study such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, geography, political science, cultural studies, and criminology. The program comprises a research core, the major subject of study, and elective courses. Students enrolled to the course are needed to undertake a supervised research project that is linked with an industry partner, for experience in the real world of social science research.
B. Ed Natural Science is a 2 year undergraduate course in education. Natural Sciences deal with the scientific study of all the different life forms, i.e. the scientific study of living organisms like plants, animals and human beings. The course’s curriculum involves the study of the various processes of life, such as the processes involved in the transformation of molecular and cellular lives. Students enrolled to the course are imparted advanced learning in rare species of plant and animal life. The discipline of Natural Sciences can be broadly divided into Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences, with Chemistry sitting at the interface between both areas.
B.Ed. Mathematics is a 2 year under graduate degree in the field of Education. This course imparts knowledge about Mathematics and includes topics like Arithmetic, Trigonometry, Algebra, Geometry and other related topics.
Diploma course in Elementary Education. It is a 2-year full-time diploma course to train teachers for the primary level and can be done with classroom training or distance learning. It is a 4-semester course to prepare students to work in primary/ upper primary schools in different states of the country. The design of the course is such that it includes practical training and internships along with classroom training. It includes principles of child development, education practice, and the role of the teacher in grooming the students.
Sree Narayana Campus of Teacher Education, Kottappuram, Palakkad founded in 2002 was named after the great saint philosopher and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru. It stands as a historical monument that reminds us the great doctrines of the Guru, ‘Gain strength through Organisation, Earn Wisdom Through Learning’, “One Caste, One religion, One God for Man.” This institution is run by Swami Swaswatheekananda trust for charity and education, Thengumkavu, Pathanamthitta, under the eminent leadership of Sri.M.B.Sreekumar Brahmasree Swaswatheekananda Swamikal, the prophet of non-religious spirituality is the spiritual light of this institution.
