The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 year undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning.After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.

St. John’s College of Nursing is situated at Kattappana in the beautiful terrain of the High Ranges of Idukki district. It was established in 2003 with a view to prepare graduate nurses who will personally and professionally be competent to provide holistic care to the individual, family and society in all settings and will be the leaders of professional nursing. The college is recognized by INC & KNC. The institution has also minority status. The college is equipped with adequate facilities and modern equipments & an excellent library which will provide quality education to the students. Experienced faculty in all specialties is a special feature of the college.

Physical facilities: - The College has well furnished Lecture halls with modern audiovisual aids.
Library: - Well furnished library with more than thousand books of latest editions and more than ten periodicals. The students can utilize the Library facilities every day till 10.30pm.

Computer Lab:- Well equipped computer lab with internet facilities

Faculty: - The College has efficient and competent faculty with post-graduation in all specialties.

Clinical Facilities: - Apart from the class-room and lab a facility, the college is attached to a 400 bedded Multi-specialty Hospital which provides a good clinical area for learning.
