The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery and focuses on educating nursing students on the topics of general health care and midwifery. Nursing and Midwifery focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life from conception to death. Duration of the course is 3 years.
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (P.B.B. Sc.) is a 2 years undergraduate program pursued for candidates interested by the sector of Nursing. A certified RN (Registered Nurse) is capable of administering preventive, primitive, curative, and rehabilitative offerings to sufferers and communities at large.

The long-cherished dream of our founder Mathias Wolff SJ to educate the young women was realized with the commencement of GNM in 1946, ANM in 1984, B.Sc. (N) in 2003 and the PB B.Sc. (N) in the year 2008. Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Glowrey, the servant of God was instrumental in establishing the Nursing Educational Institutes at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The highly treasured zeal and passion of Mary Glowrey was carried forward by her followers Sr. Ancilla, (late), Sr. Marianne, Sr. Marina, Sr. Dominic, Sr. Vijaya, Sr. Gladys, Sr. Mercy and Sr. Lissy.
