The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 year undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning.After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (P.B.B. Sc.) is a 2 years undergraduate program pursued for candidates interested by the sector of Nursing. A certified RN (Registered Nurse) is capable of administering preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative offerings to sufferers and communities at large.

M. Sc Nursing is a postgraduate path in theories and principles of nursing and allied sciences. A candidate has to be a B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) graduate in Nursing from a recognized university with a view to be eligible for this path.

About College

It was the deep desire of servent of God Msgr. Joseph C. Panjikaran, the founder of  congregation of Medical Sisters of St. Joseph to reach out to the  poor and marginalized with a goal to touch the humanity with a compassionate heart. Out of his divine love and zeal, founded the Medical Sisters of St. Joseph in the year 1946, where healing ministry remains as the mean of establishing the kingdom of God.

    To make the healing ministry more fruitful, the congregation aims to train quality professionals in the field of health. Thus St. Joseph’s college of Nursing, Dharmagiri established in the year 2002 owned by St. Joseph’s Hospital trust of St. Joseph’s Province is a new chapter in the annals of ministries of MSJ. College strives for holistic excellence in nursing education.

    Over the years, the college has grown in stature and in the decennial years of it’s existence, college started Post Basic B. Sc Nursing (30 Seats) and M. Sc Nursing (12 Seats) and thus added two more feathers in it’s cap. College remains as one of the most selective center of nursing education in state, recognized by INC, KNC and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science. The college upholds the motto ‘Love Serves’


Nursing College is approved by the Government of Kerala and affiliated to KUHS. The Nursing program has received accreditation from the Indian Nursing Council.

 Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course (30 Seats) : Affiliated to KUHS, Kerala
 M.Sc Nursing Course (12 Seats) : Affiliated to KUHS, Kerala
