GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery and focuses on educating nursing students on the topics of general health care and midwifery. Nursing and Midwifery focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life from conception to death. Duration of the course is 3 years.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (P.B.B. Sc.) is a 2 years undergraduate program pursued for candidates interested by the sector of Nursing. A certified RN (Registered Nurse) is capable of administering preventive, primitive, curative, and rehabilitative offerings to sufferers and communities at large.
Vijaya Health Care Academic Society was established in 2001 under the umbrella of Vijaya Health Care and Sathya Sadhana Foundation. Also the fact that such a course would be instrumental in helping students from weaker sections to realize their dreams of a better tomorrow with dignity was instrumental in establishing the Academic Society. Thus the school of Nursing was established in the year 2001 to promote nursing education and to promote research in the field of nursing. The institution was initially offering Diploma in Nursing with an intake of 45 students per batch. But as years rolled on, its rays had spread to other latitudes in nursing education such as BSc. (Nursing) with an intake of 50 students in the year 2006 , pc B.Sc (N) with an intake of 30 students in the year 2010. The college is affiliated to Dr. KNR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and by the Andhra Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council. The college believes in preparing nurses from all states of India and abroad to meet the great challenges of service in the field of nursing.
