Sri Keshava trust (SKT) is a Bangalore based, public charitable trust, established to provide health care services to those who need it the most. The trust was started by Dr.K.Ramachandra Murthy in a small way in 1988, out of Prabha Eye Clinic and Research Center(a renowned eye care hospital established in 1940). A legend in his own right,, Dr. Murthy was a visionary who dedicated his life towards providing quality eye care, at a time when such eye care was not freely available in Karnataka. 

In 1998 the Government of Karnataka granted land in the new area of Banashankari IIIrd stage. Supported by over 3500 donors big and small, the trust built a state of the art tertiary eye care ophthalmic hospital called Vittala International Institute of Ophthalmology (VIIO). This facility started offering its services since October 2001. Today the Hospital is equipped with the latest and advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment in ophthalmology. The trust undertakes research and training in all areas of ophthalmology and is currently in the process of creating comprehensive care models. Innovative and sucessful models like the Nayana, Retinopathy of Prematurity telescreening model, Visual rehabilitation Projects have been developed in this institute, some of which have been adopted by government and international agencies.

Visual rehabilitation is the process of treatment and education that helps individuals who are visually disabled attain maximum function, a sense of well being, a personally satisfying level of independence and optimum quality of life.
