(Microbiology) is basically one and half years but its duration varies from institute to institute. M.Phil Tamil is a 1 year postgraduate course. The course M.Phil Tamil is solely deals with literature in Tamil language. Candidates learn about the rich history of Tamil literature which is around two thousand years old. They learn about its evolution and contribution of various people for such a long period. Not only Tamil people have contributed but there are notable contributions from European authors also Candidates also learn about political and social issues and details of different periods.

Ph D in Tamil is a 3 – 5 year doctoral level course. It provides study related to contemporary cultural history on the basis of modern media and print audio and electronic operating today. During the study time candidates learn about the Tamil’s language evolution and contribution of many people for such a long period. The literature courses provide an insight into a range of literary genres, periods and styles. The course involves Major components such as Literary Criticism, Fiction, Poetry/ Drama, Philosophy, Linguistics and Literature.

M.Phil Zoology is a 1 year postgraduate Zoology course. Zoology is the branch of biology which relates to the animal kingdom, including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct. The criteria to award this degree varies from university to university.
